VETERAN SCOUTS

The veteran scouts of the "Night Wolves" are an idea that i have had for about 2 years now. In making these rules i was hoping to give a different slant to the chapter of marines that i had dreampt up for myself. My perception of the Night wolves was one of a fast moving one. scouting out the enemy and leading them into ambushes wherever possible. The veteran scout idea came about after thinking of ways of making a different type of elite unit, which is usually the role taken by Space Marine vets.

Oh well, enough of that, here's the rules, at present they haven't been playtested a great deal, but in the three or so games in which they have, they haven't unbalanced the game terribly.

Squad

The squad consists of 4 veteran space marine scouts and 1 sergeant.

Weapons

Bolt pistol, frag and plasma grenades, Needle sniper rifle.

Armour

Scout armour (3+ save)

Wargear

Cameoline

Up to one model may have a special or heavy weapon chosen from the appropriate part of the relevant wargear list.

Any model may choose equipment from the assault weapons section of the Space Marine wargear list.

The entire squad may be equipped with Krak grenades at a cost of +15 points.

 

Special rules:

Infiltrate

The entire squad may infiltrate.

Dispersed formation

Veteran scout squads may use a dispersed formation.
The normal shaken and rapidfire rules apply to veteran scouts
